to find out how to get them go to our website fox 6 now dot com. former astronaut and us senator john glenn died today at the age of 95. glenn achieved much in his life -- including being the first american to orbit the earth. he learned to fly as part of a college course and went on to join the marine corps in 1943. glenn flew 149 combat missions in world war two and the korean war would later serve in congress for 24 years.. and in 20-12 president obama awarded him the presidential medal of freedom. nasa tweeting out a tribute today - saying "godspeed, john glenn." house speaker paul ryan releasing a statement saying, "john glenn was an american hero...may his memory live on every time we look up at the stars." glenn was surrounded by family at ohio state university's wexner
we have much more on the life and accomplishments of john glenn on our website. just go to fox 6 now dot com. continuing our coverage of a deadly night in milwaukee. four people are now dead... one is hospitalized. all-- from unrelated shootings. our angelica sanchez has a break down of the overnight gunfire. screaming and gunfire--- thats what police say a neighbor appleton and florist. when police arrived they discovered a 38-year-old woman and 36-year-old man both from milwaukee with gunshot wounds. both died at the scene. an 11-year old and 16-year old were discovered hiding in a room. they are not suspects and were not injured. a relative who did not wish to be identified said new living arrangements are being made for the children, who are still trying to make sense of what happened. . these were not the only lives lost to gunfire overnight. at 9:30 pm wednesday, a 67-
while driving near 36th and thurston. his car kept running and struck a fire hydrant... telephone pole and then crashed into this home. the debris is still visible. a nearby neighbor describes what she heard. ' i heard this thump after i heard the thump i... saw all these flashing red and blue lights i knew something happened and went back to bed. police say no one was inside at the time of the crash. the last shooting happened near 52nd and green tree. police say a preliminary investigation shows a 34-year-old man took his own life after 32-year-old girlfriend. she survived her injury and a relative on the scene tells fox6 shes recovering well. a relative for the male suspect was also at the scene and declined to comment on the incident. the motives and suspects behind these crimes are still under investigation reporting outside milwaukee district 4 i'm angelica sanchez fox6 news
guilty in the fatal shooting of 5-year-old laylah petersen is sentenced to 30 years in prison. a judge handing down that sentence to arlis gordon this morning in court. investigators say gordon and two others planned to get revenge on a group -- but instead shot at the wrong house in 2014. carl barrett jr. was sentenced one week ago. he will spend 65 years in prison. paul farr also pleaded guilty for his role. police are investigating an armed robbery on milwaukee's it happened around 8-30 last night at "the wing stop" near 76th and good hope road. police say the suspect showed a silver and black handgun during the robbery... and was able to get away with a tray of money. the suspect is believed to be an african-american male... roughly 5- feet-3 inches tall. he was wearing a green vampire mask, grey sweatshirt, grey pants, and gloves. no one was injured. milwaukee police need your help catching a strong-armed robbery suspect. this is surveillance

bank headquarters, and the law firm of michael best and friedrich. the bmo financial center will be a significant addition to downtown milwaukee. construction is slated to start, next summer, and be completed by late, 20-19. what will, officially, be known as the bmo harris financial center at market square will be located right next to b-mo harris' current location, at 7-70 north water street. i think about the years that b-mo and m&i have been together, uh, nothing--nothing, makes me today, this new building. some of the joy expressed is attributed to the project developer's commitment to employing a diverse workforce--in the absence of any government funding. if we can have the prosperity--on projects, like this, get to the people in the community, we can eliminate some of the some of the challenges that are in our community.

a 55-year-old man is under arrest for armed robbery -- after allegedly trying to rob two downtown milwaukee restaurants on monday. the first happened at wells -- the suspect implied he had a weapon and took money from the register. police say he then went to the "real chili's" in cathedral square. the cashier refused to hand over any money -- so the suspect ran. the 50th summerfest is coming in 20-17, and with it some major upgrades. expect to see everything from virtual reality headsets to a 25- foot video screen. milwaukee world festival and u-s cellular announced a new ten year agreement this morning --
